Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program at the Waukegan Public Library

The Waukegan Public Library will be hosting an information session for the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program. The program offers young women, going into the 11th or 12th grade, an opportunity to acquire new skills that will help them pursue their future goals. The seven week summer program is free. It includes field trips, workshops and hands-on project work. The program runs Mondays – Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm daily. This year the program site will be in downtown Chicago. In addition to being a free program, participants can also apply for need based scholarships and transportation stipends. Invite or bring young women and parents to the Information Session at the Waukegan Public Library on Thursday, February 18,2016 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Applications will be accepted for the program until March 1, 2016. For more information go to: www.girlswhocode.co Beginners and those without work experience are welcomed. The only requirement to apply is to be a young woman going into the 11th or 12th grade.

Where's the Money? How to Finance Your College Education - January 30, 2016, 10 am to 1 pm

This free workshop is sponsored by Delta Sigma Thete Sorority and College of Lake County, Lake Shore Campusand will cover:

  • completing scholarship and FAFSA financial applications;
  • writing effective essays; and
  • identifying scholarshop souces.

The workshop will be held at 1 North Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL. Free parking is available in the garage at Sheridan and Madison streets.

Do Need Information About Passports?

The Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court's office has passport applications and information on obtaining or renewing a passport. Passport applications are processed at the Clerk of the Cicuit Court's office Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

The office is located at the Lake County Building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL 60085 and the telephone number is 847.377.3380. Click here for more infomation in Spanish and English.

Lake County Circuit Clerk Public Access System is Now Live!

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court is responsible for maintaining a record of all traffic, civil, criminal and juvenile cases filed and heard in Lake County. These records are now available online to the general public. The Circuit Clerk's office collects and disburses traffic and criminal fines, civil fees, child support and processes passport applications. Office staff is also responsible for recording filed documents and attending court for the purposes of maintaining a record of all proceedings.
