Erika Quezada Sanchez
Erika Quezada Sanchez’s endless quest for meaning in life, discovery of a higher calling, and passion to leave this world a little better, has led her to a journey of self-discovery and surrender. Born in Mexico, Erika arrived to the U.S. with her parents, at the young age of thirteen, in search of the American Dream.
She is a proud Latina and Windy City resident where she earned her B.A in Psychology with high honors from Northern Illinois University, she has a unique training in Eating Psychology & Mind Body Nutrition from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, Boulder, CO. She is recognized by the International Coaching Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). This July, she received her 200 Hour Yoga/Meditation/Wellness/Social Emotional Learning Teacher Certification.
She has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Therapist, Care Coordinator, Case Manager and most recently as a Prevention Specialist providing health education to 6-9th grade students at the Waukegan, Zion and Round Lake Schools. She is an entrepreneur, and a co-author of the book series Today’s Inspired Latina Vol. IV.
She is a board member of the National Alliance for Mental Health (NAMI) where she provides direct assistance, advocacy, education, and support to the Spanish speaking community affected mental illnesses. As an advisor to the Catholic Dreamers Ministry she informs, guides, and supports young immigrants and their families to accomplish their goals regardless of their immigration status.
In 2018, Erika was selected as a finalist for the third annual, Latinos 40 Under 40 in Chicago Award presented by Negocios Now.
When human beings experience life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. As the facilitator of “Mujer a Mujer” (Woman to Woman), presenter at “The Phoenix Program” and the founder and CEO of Lotus Life & Wellness Coaching, she is determined to uplift and transform the lives of the people she meets in this journey called life.
