Ivan Hernandez-Arizmendi grew up in Mexico up to the age of 12; in 2015 his family migrated to this country. Ivan attended Waukegan Schools and graduated High School in 2011. In 2015, Ivan graduated from College of Lake County with an Associates in Arts and two years later in 2017 Graduated from Columbia College Of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Ivan is a Licensed Personal Banker at First Midwest Bank working in the Waukegan Market. Ivan’s banking career started five years ago, and is passionate about assisting clients meet their financial goals and objectives. At First Midwest Bank, Ivan has had the opportunity to participate in different community events that promotes Financial Education.
As a first-generation college graduate Ivan discovered the importance of mentorship and college guidance. Therefore, he is involved in different activities within his community that encourage students to continue their education. Ivan is a co-founder of Lake County Immigrant Advocacy (LCIA), a grassroots organization whose mission is to empower students from mixed-status families in the Lake County area. In addition, Ivan volunteers his time as a SPRED catechist for Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Waukegan; his role is to assist persons with developmental disabilities to become integrated into parish assemblies of worship through religious education.
